This is the standard asbestos survey. Its purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect asbestos containing materials in the building which could be disturbed during normal occupancy.
This type of survey is fully intrusive and involves destructive inspections, as necessary, to locate and describe all asbestos containing materials within the building before any refurbishment or demolition works are carried out.
Sampling of any potential asbestos containing materials.
Samples are analysed for asbestos fibres in an independent UKAS accredited laboratory. The 3 most common types of asbestos are Chrysotile, Amosite and Crocidolite.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 requires that the condition of asbestos containing materials must be inspected regularly and records updated accordingly. The frequency of the inspection regime must not exceed 12 months. Over time, asbestos-based products can degenerate, weather or be accidentally damaged thereby causing the risks associated with the material to change substantially.
We provide impartial advice to asbestos surveying, continuing management and removal requirements.
